This past week Social Media Week took place in Miami. A week long conference that provides the ideas, trends, insights and inspiration to help people and businesses understand how to achieve more in a hyper-connected world. I had a wonderful experience moderating a panel with Tiffany DiPanni, Mabel De Beunza and Jomary Jimenez about “Reinventing The Travel Experience with Social Media“. I also spoke at the Miami Urban Music Film Festival about the impact of social media for independent producers and music artists with a renown local colleague, Steve Roitstein an educator who created afro-cuban band called GO Palo nominated this year for a Latin Grammy.
Most rewarding this week was to meet a young group, part of a meaningful Ford en Español initiative called Ford Millennials. They come from different cities in the United States and Ford Español has been mentoring this group at different conferences and actually flew them to Miami this week for the Ford Millennials Summit. They were most appreciative and enthusiastic interacting with me during my speaking panel at the Festival which was one of their programmed activities.
Ford en Español is making possible that this eclectic and talented group of Ford Millennials become part of a community dialogue online and offline about the topics they are interested to learn more about. They are attending relevant national events so they network and grow in their respective professional fields after they complete college.
Among this past week in Miami, Ford Millennials attended a Summit at FIU School of Mass Comm, Educational Events with South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Social Media Week Miami Conference, Miami Urban Music and Film Festival and Calle 8 Noches Culturales.
