#TOPBlogueras14 at LATISM’14 Annual Conference

Blessed and thankful as everyday I get to do what I love. Its been four years of working very hard to create new opportunities, while I was learning/networking and determined to make my dreams come true. Happily surprised throughout 2014 as invites keep popping up and they truly just get better and better. In November I was recognized for the third year in a row as one of LATISM [ LatinosInTechandSocialMedia.org ] TOP Latina Influencers 2014, which included an invitation to Anaheim, California during LATISM 2014 Conference. Among others, The Walt Disney Company Global Diversity & Inclusion was a proud sponsor of LATISM’14 Annual National Conference and the Top Blogueras 2014 retreat.

TOP Blogueras 2014:

The morning continued to amaze me as our first mentor was from the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators who shared valuable information to those who were interested in writing a book (ME)!!! I learned about the difference of traditional publishing and self-publishing, conferences, workshops and felt empowered to write my book. There is a need for Latinas based in the US to write books and LATISM Founder, Ana Roca put the seed about this need, and the fact that she is expecting a BEST SELLER from this group of insanely talented and driven TOP Blogueras 2014.

Our next mentor was Susana Tubert, Creative Director at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment with a remarkable successful story who shared all the knowledge. Susana motivated and inspired us with powerful words:

If you’re passionate on what you believe it will become true ~ Susana Tubert #TopBlogueras14 #Latism14

A perfect energizing morning could only become better by a visit to experience the kick-off of a lively holiday at Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Its Disney celebrating the holidays en Español! I felt proud to see the Disney characters participating with live Latino music. A truly wonderful experience of our culture and traditions through the eyes of an iconic American Brand. APLAUSOS Disney!

Next two days was all about LATISM 14 Conference covering Health, Education, Business and Technology tracks with different panels like Johnson & Johnson sharing their amazing initiative Donate a Photo to help different children causes. Javier Moreno from Toyota participated in a very interesting panel about the business side of blogging and social media influencers from a brand’s perspective. Hackathon 2.0 a program that gives tech innovators from our young Latino community a platform to expose their ideas. Keynote Speakers the best of the best from Fidel A. Vargas, President/CEO of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Luis Patiño, VP Univision Local Media Los Angeles, Susan Can, Digital Strategy US-Global Johnson & Johnson, Javier Moreno, Manager External Affairs Toyota, Melissa Hillebrenner, Director of Girl Up, Jeannette Kaplun, Award Winning Journalist/Host to an extraordinary 15 year old Ashley Chico, a producer of technology who makes coding cool for girls by developing mobile apps and software that is truly making a difference.

A special shout out to AARP en Español a brand that takes care of our ‘familias’ with valuable programs for caregivers and so much more. During LATISM ARRP had spa stations for influencers to take a moment to relax from busy TOP Blogueras agenda. They also invited special guest Esai Morales, who told us a beautiful story. Esai Morales is AARP spokesperson who speaks from the heart and as a latino has a special story about his ‘familia’.

GRACIAS Ana Roca for this marvelous experience. Ana de corazon GRACIAS for giving us the tools and access to knowledge so we can go out into the world confident and determined to do our very best impacting our latino community in a positive and inspiring light.
