Frequent flyers who travel for business become expert packers. They know exactly what to take to enhance their stay and remain productive. Take a leaf out of their book and make sure your pack these must-have items.
1. Awesome Carry On Bag
Arguably one of the most important travel items is your carry on bag. It needs to be small and light enough to meet airline standards. While at the same time it has to allow for multiple items. And it needs to be sturdy and withstand being dragged through numerous airports and taxi ranks.
2. Sleep Mask
Always pack a sleep mask for the flight and hotel. It will block out unwanted light and help your body produce melatonin. This is the hormone that allows your body to fall asleep naturally. Some airlines will provide these for you. Check with your provider when you book your discount business class seats. Getting enough sleep will help you arrive at your conference or meeting looking fresh and rested.
3. Headphones / Earplugs
Pro travelers will extol the virtues of a good pair of headphones. It’s worth paying a little extra for a pair that fit comfortably and cancel out external noise. They are invaluable for train journeys and flights. Earplugs are another option.
4. Slip-On Shoes
If possible, wear comfortable slip-on shoes. These will get you through airport security quicker. And they are easy to slip off once you’re comfortably in your seat. Your feet can swell a little during flights, so it’s a good idea to wear shoes that have a little extra room.
5. Comfy Socks
If you’re on a long haul-flight, you might as well make yourself comfortable. Slip off your shoes and settle back. Take a comfortable pair of socks that will keep your feet warm. Planes can feel very cold.
You don’t want to be lugging around heavy tech. Take a lightweight laptop and load it up with all relevant documents. Even better, store your work on a cloud service like Google Drive. This will ensure it is accessible wherever you go. A local version can be downloaded to your devices for when there is no wifi.
If you like to read, load up your e-reader with books. Opt for a version with a built-in reading light. This will save you valuable space in your carry-on luggage.
8. Day To Evening Clothing
To save space in your suitcase, take outfits that will work for business and social events. Take smart, comfortable shoes if you are going to multiple locations. Your feet will thank you for it.
9. Pen And Notebook
Though we live in a digital world, devices fail. They can run out of charge, or we can’t access the internet, etc. Always take pens and notepads to jot down information. You can always type it up later.
Make sure you take chargers for all your tech. You may also need adapters for plug sockets. A portable charger is essential, especially if you work long hours. This will ensure your phone and tech stay charged throughout the day.
