Have you heard? The 1990s are making a comeback and today we are having so much fun con “Más Macarena”!!!!!
More than 20 years after the release of the viral dance track “Macarena,” Spanish duo Los Del Rio is at it again, this time with a remix of the same hit that turned them into superstars.
Working with Cuban duo Gente de Zona, the two groups breathed new life into the dance party classic to make it relevant again. And of course, with the addition of GDZ’s infectious signature rhythms, “Más Macarena” es definitivamente un éxito!
There is perhaps no better group than Gente De Zona for Los Del Rio to join forces with in bringing back their 1994 sensation. The Spanish duo picked GDZ as the group with whom they wanted to record a new version of “Macarena,” largely due to the explosive success they are experiencing in Spain. If you’ve been following Gente de Zona en las redes, then you know that their European tour was muy impresionante! From July 22 to August 13, the super duo performed 12 electrifying shows, eight of which were in Spain, with their show in Barcelona being streamed live online via Tidal.
Dirigido por venezolano Daniel Duran (who also directed Chino y Nacho’s “Tu Angelito” y “Tu Me Quemas”), the vibrant official music video for “Más Macarena” combines fantastic choreography with beautiful scenes of Cuba and just might bring back the Macarena as the hottest dance around!
Gente De Zona’s recent album Visualízate has been certified Platinum in Spain, Double Platinum in Colombia, and Gold in Chile. They are nominated this year for two Premios Tu Mundo.
“Más Macarena” is now available on all digital platforms.
