The two-day event, which takes place on October 15 and 16, is themed ¡Únete a Nosotros! and focuses on empowerment, aiming to energize the Hispanic community, build civic engagement, and increase voting awareness. It concludes an action-packed week for Web City Girls in NYC. Free and open to the public, the Festival promises to be lots of fun with exciting musical performances by Reykon, Karol G, Kany García, and more!

“We are delighted to host our fifth annual Festival People en Español and unite our community around their passions with two days of free entertainment and empowerment programming,” said Monique Manso, Vice President, Brand Sales Director, People en Español and 100 Hispanic Women Aplauso Honoree of the Month-October. “With a nod to our 20th anniversary, we are featuring the top celebrities, influencers and leaders from around the world to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and revel in our culture.” Visit Web City Girls’ Facebook page to watch Lynn Ponder’s live interview with Manso, part of #UnstoppableLATINAS NY.

Among the celebrities attending the Festival are actors Maite Perroni, Danilo Carrera, Dascha Polanco, Juan Pablo Llano and Wilmer Valderrama, as well as Despierta America social media host William Valdés, Un Nuevo Día host Adamari López, The Real host Adrienne Bailon, DJ Alex Sensation, and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Chiquis Rivera, daughter of the late Jenni Rivera, will also be there. She will join Lynn, along with sisters Jacqie and Jenicka, on Thursday, October 13 for #UnstoppableLATINAS NY and is getting ready to premiere their new family reality show The Riveras on NBC Universo on Sunday, October 16.

On Saturday, October 15, Disney will bring its creative team behind Elena of Avalor to the Festival, with Gaby Moreno performing songs from the series. Princess Elena of Avalor herself will also make an appearance! In addition, over the course of the weekend, Macy’s will present two panels on women’s empowerment at the Festival Theater. Moderated by People en Español Fashion and Beauty Director Ursula Carranza, panel participants Laura Posada, Nina Vaca, Adamari López and Sylvia Acevedo will discuss the impact of empowerment on their careers, advocating for other Latinas and the Hispanic community, and Latin culture’s influence on their success.

The Festival will also address voting with a panel discussion on Sunday. Titled “Making Our Voice Count,” it will focus on the importance of voting and having one’s voice heard during the 2016 election.

Amigas bellas, if you are in the NYC area, please join us at the Festival on October 16 at 1 PM for a fun girls get together and to honor Daddy Yankee, who will receive the 20th Anniversary Award in recognition of his two decades of contributions to the music industry. “Nos entusiasma honrar a Daddy Yankee por sus 20 años en el sector de la música con nuestro Premio 20mo Aniversario. Su influencia en nuestra cultura y en millones de personas de todo el mundo es representativa de nuestra misión como marca de unir e inspirar,” dijo Monique Manso.
