#UnstoppableLATINAS celebrates Women’s History Month by recognizing two outstanding latina leaders in media and technology. We are proud to announce the first-ever #UnstoppableLATINAS Leadership and Entrepreneurship Award Recipients:


Laura I. Gómez
One of the leading voices of tech entrepreneurship and diversity advocate
raised $2 million for her 20-month-old recruiting software start-up Atipica, believed to be one of the largest seed funding rounds for a Silicon Valley technology company run by a Latina founder.”

Gómez is the founder and CEO of Atipica, a talent discovery engine that uniquely combines both artificial, human intelligence to help companies realize the lifetime value of recruiting data. Additionally, she is a founding member of Project Include, a nonprofit formed to accelerate diversity and inclusion solutions in the tech industry. She previously worked at Twitter, where she was a founding team member of the International team and lead product expansion into dozens languages. Laura has also worked at Hewlett-Packard, Jawbone and YouTube.

Gómez was recognized by the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her involvement in the TechWomen Program 2012. She serves on the board of Institute for Technology and Public Policy alongside Lt Governor Gavin Newsom and FWD.us Council – which mobilizes the tech community in support of policies for commonsense immigration reform.

Carolina Santamarina
A visionary leader passionate about integrated sales, creating executions that positively impact non-tradicional revenue that result in increased ratings.

Santamarina is the General Manager and VP of Sales for Spanish Broadcast System SBS’ three station cluster (the largest publicly traded Hispanic-controlled media and entertainment Company in the United States).

Santamarina has been instrumental in creating and producing Miami Bash, one of the most recognizable Latin urban concerts in South Florida held at the American Airlines Arena. Miami Bash has become a brand synonymous with millennial Hispanics, and brands. Santamarina is part responsible for creating Grand Slam Party Latino which made history, being the first concert ever at Marlins Park in the heart of Little Havana, Miami. Sponsorship sales, spearheaded by Santamarina, for Grand Slam were record breaking for SBS Miami. In 2013 Radio Ink named Carolina Santamarina as one of “The Best Manager’s in America”.
