The Complete Mom Guide For A Flawless Look

Let’s face it. Us moms have it hard to look our best. Especially in the mornings. This is down to the fact we have so many other things we need to be doing. Getting children ready and breakfast served. Heading out the door on time for school with everything everyone needs in tow. When do we have the time to apply a full face of makeup and do our hair like we did before children? We just don’t have the luxury anymore. But yet many moms still wish to look their best. Which is why I thought I would share with you a few ideas that could help create a more flawless look. I hope they help you. Drink plenty of water Water is a secret weapon. It has so many good qualities, and it’s easy to drink more of it. It has many benefits, but the main one would have to be the effect it has on your skin. It can plump it up and give it a more dewy glow. It can help clear pores and also clear up bad skin breakouts. It’s a natural detox. As a mom, we are always on the go, but we always need to keep hydrated. So make sure you up your intake of water and see the difference it could make. Head to bed earlier I don’t think many busy moms would refuse an early night. But while it allows us to get extra rest it can also have an impact on our skin and looks. Getting more sleep could reduce the swellings we get under our eyes and the grey skin tone that can develop. Tired skin is not attractive. So head to bed earlier and get that rest you deserve. Simplify your skincare routine There is no hiding the fact we are short on time, but that’s no excuse to not have a good skincare routine in place. A simplified plan of cleansing and moisturising should be more than enough to keep your skin looking great. Even if you use a facial wash as a cleanser, you are on the right track. Many of us forget to completely remove our makeup at night, and that can be a killer for our looks in the morning. So if you do anything, make sure you completely remove it before heading to bed. Your skin will look much brighter in the morning. Consider permanent changes With little time to get ourselves looking our best in the morning, there is no wonder that many women are turning to more permanent changes. Things like Botox and derma fillers can provide a more youthful...

Encouraging A Healthy Diet For All The Family? It’s Simple With This Guide

Encouraging a good diet amongst the whole family can be tricky Especially when it comes to children. They can look at the examples parents set. Meaning they can become quite fussy without intentionally wanting to. However, as mothers, we only want the best for our family and a lot of the time that comes with the food they eat and the diet they have. We would like nothing more for our family to have a healthy balanced diet. Which is why we go to great lengths to make sure our family is taken care of. With that in mind, I thought I would share with you some ways you can encourage a healthy diet for all the family to enjoy. Look at the current eating habits The first thing you need to assess is the family’s current eating habits. Do you eat together as a family? Do you eat similar things? Is the diet varied and includes vegetables and fruit? If you are serious about changing the way your family eats then some of these issues need to be raised and addressed. It’s much easier to tackle things when you know what the current situation is. You may highlight some bad habits that have developed over the years. Perhaps you have given into a fussy child over time. Or made different meals for family members to adhere to what they want to eat. All of which cause more problems for you going forward if you don’t tackle them now. Eat together as a family One way you can start to encourage a healthier diet for the whole family is eating together. This is a way to set a good example to everyone. Especially children. It gives you the opportunity for family time, and a chance to unwind from your day. Too many times we can rush mealtimes which is why it’s a good habit to start. Eating together can become a fun way of being more closer as a family. Bringing everyone together in the evening. However, eating together can also be a great way to encourage your family to try new foods. It’s a more relax environment in which some members of the family may feel more relaxed in trying some new tastes or flavours. Incorporate a diet and lifestyle the whole family can embrace It can be hard when some members of the family have different diets to others. It can not only cause problems when cooking family meals, but also when buying specific ingredients. Such diets and lifestyles might be things like vegetarianism or veganism. Even taking into account allergies. When it comes to specific lifestyle...

Evita Distracciones, Todo Puede Esperar

Evita Distracciones, Todo Puede Esperar

Everyone Should Have a Mentor

I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to work as a social media influencer. I get to meet many people and have established some wonderful relationships. One of the things that I like the most about social media is that it encourages you to concentrate in subjects that you are passionate about. I absolutely love children and I’m always looking for ways to bring out the best in them, to let them know that they are loved and that they matter. I love taking advantage of teachable moments, encouraging them to make good choices. That is why when I first heard that Sprint partnered with ASPIRA of Florida, to launch the Sprint Mobile Mentorship Program at the Hispanicize conference last year where they were asking notable influencers to help champion Latino Youth by becoming a Mobile Mentor, I just had to jump on that. Talking about good choices, this was a great one for me. Nailah Allen my mentee and I: Nailah Allen is an outstanding mentee from Aspira DE/CO Charter School, she is a super sweet 14 year old who always looks at the bright side of everything and as a matter of fact she is a straight A student. She told me that she would like to attend the best High School that will better prepare her for college. How’s that for the wishes of a young adolescent girl? We talked about her 8th grade “Prom” party coming up and when I asked her what color dress she was wearing for the “Big Party”, she said that she hadn’t bought her outfit yet. I decided to contact Ms. Emma the Activity Director from Aspira and I asked her if she knew how many of the kids had already purchased their suits or gowns. She said that many of the students were not going to buy anything new, because parents couldn’t afford to buy them a new outfit. Inspired by JCPenney participation with “Yes to the Prom” a program designed to build courage and self-confidence among young women. I reached out to them to get as many students a special outfit for their exclusive night. Here is the video story of this wonderful experience with JCPenney: I wanted the kids to feel confident about themselves and to have a really fun time. I want them to feel loved and to know that there are people who really care about them and want them to succeed in life. Congratulations to the 2016 Graduating Class from Aspira Arts Deco, you have a great future ahead of you. I am here for you if you ever want to talk or need a shoulder to cry on. God bless...

Manejando a Ciegas

Sh*tty Mom for All Seasons: Half-@ssing It All Year Long

Emmy Award–winning TODAY show producers, the brains behind TodaysMoms, and self-proclaimed sh*tty moms Alicia Ybarbo and Mary Ann Zoellner, together with humorist Erin Clune, bring you the perfect book to tackle the occasions that test every mother’s patience and inspire a second glass of wine with Sh*tty Mom for All Seasons. The Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us struck a chord with moms everywhere, and now (finally!) there is more more of what we crave—a guide to help parents through holidays, special occasions, and the dreaded school calendar with Sh*tty Mom for All Seasons: Half-@ssing It All Year Long (Abrams; April 5, 2016; U.S. $19.95; Hardcover with jacket).   Eager to share with our awesome community of Mom’s,  we got into action and shared our Sh*tty Mom book copy with Karen E. Lopez, who devoured the book and sent us her thoughts: I received the book Sh*tty mom for all seasons. I started to read it and let me tell you I couldn’t stop reading it. I was laughing from the moment I started to read until I was done. In some areas it made me think of ME! Perfect example would be the one about throwing your kid a birthday party on page 18, it brought me to a laugh because I am doing that right now. I am in the process of giving my son a party for his 15th birthday. Nonetheless, it’s a surprise. We are always trying to be better than this person and that person. We have to be our own unique person. How is it that we have managed to get lost in an uptight world of trying to top this person or the other? We must have best of the line for this, best of the line for that. When in reality most kids all they want is just to have a ball, a few friends, and enjoy the cake. Where was this book when I was younger and when I took being a mom, too serious? To sum it up – at times we forget that before being a mother we were a young adult that would go out and have fun. We would not take life too serious. As parents, we must remember that we have the future in our hands and we must enjoy it. Thank you Lynn for letting me read this book it was an amazing book. You are welcome Karen For more info visit shttymom.com and please follow them on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook!        ...
