Fall Is Almost Here: Don’t Forget These Essentials On Your Next Shopping Trip!

Now we’re in September, fall really is right around the corner. Are you ready for the season ahead? After a long summer, there are a few pieces that you might have to pick up for your wardrobe and home on your next shopping trip. Here are some of the items to consider!  Coats and Jackets Fall is chilly but without the same biting cold as winter. This means it’s a great time of year for cute, fashionable coats. You can choose style over warmth since only a thin layer is needed to protect from the chill. A classic fitted mac will never go out of style and is something you can wear year and after year. A style that cinches the waist while skimming the hips looks ultra flattering on any figure, so a great fall staple for most women. Choose a length that takes your height into account, and a hemline sits at a comfortable place on your body. Some styles can look either too long or short on different heights. A trench coat is another timeless piece that works well for the fall. Throw on over jeans and Converse for a trendy, casual daytime look. Longline ‘boyfriend cardigans’ are also a great casual staple for this time of year, as we’re transitioning from warmer to cooler weather. Boots Time to retire the strappy sandals and dainty shoes, fall is the time for boots! A pair of heeled boots looks great over skinny jeans for the evening, or some flat Chelsea or combat boots for your everyday outfits. A good pair of wellies will also serve you well over the coming seasons. There are some higher end brands out there that have made wellies into more of a fashion boot, so there’s no better way to keep your feet warm and dry! Perfect for muddy nature walks or for walking your dogs. Long Sleeve Dresses, Tights and Leggings Casual long sleeve dresses are perfect for fall. Wear with thick tights or leggings, boots and a jacket for a comfortable and easy to wear outfit. If you choose plainer designs, you can dress them up or down easily and completely change how they look with accessories. Swing dresses, jumper dresses and skater dresses look good on a range of different body shapes so make perfect fall wardrobe staples. A quick and easy outfit to put together and will last you right the way through to the winter. Scarves, Hats and Gloves Cozy knits make an outfit instantly look more seasonally appropriate for the colder months. These are also a good way to add some interest to plain or...

Puerto Rico was felt in NYC!

Puerto Rico was felt in NYC!

Last couples of days visiting NYC have been heartfelt and I feel blessed for each new opportunity that makes me grow, learn and network with inspiring people. Main reason for this new trip was to cover the National Puerto Rican Parade, which actually had a bad rap for many years for all the rowdiness, lacking significance and some antagonistic people attending. Fortunately this year a new Board of Directors took over after after many years of poor management, erroneous intentions and to top it off fraud accusations. The New Board of Directors is comprised of young and successful Puerto Rican professionals who’s purpose was to bring back the real meaning of the parade to celebrate Puerto Rican arts, culture, and education with pride, dignity and honor. The New Board had barely three months to create a newly revamped National Puerto Rican Day Parade, confirm celebrities, sign-up sponsors, and in addition to the Parade on Sunday, June 8 organize three key events as the kick-off to the parade: 152nd Street Festival a cultural event that aimed to help feed neighbors NPRDP Rising Star Challenge Promoting Professional Development and Empowerment in Youth Annual Parade Mass Uniting the Religious Community in Worship and Thanksgiving I was a witness of the excitement throughout the Parade that had not been felt in years. Puerto Ricans in New York came out with their families proud with an amazing display of flags and joy to celebrate culture and have a good time. The Parade was a total success covered by Live FOX TV (I was told via Instagram that  pink wig was on TV.. LOL), attendance in the millions and a new standard of quality was achieved. Congratulations to the new Board of Directors that worked day and night to make sure that all details were covered. The Queen Rosie Perez and King Rene Perez from Calle 13 and other fun moments with Lauren Velez also a honoree at the Parade and our Boricua friend Laura Posada: Big thank you to a couple of wonderful Puerto Ricans: George Torres a top Latino influencer and social media ambassador for the Parade (hashtag used #QueBonitaBandera reached 9.5MM and created 28MM impressions throughout the campaign that I was a part), as well as Louis Maldonado part of the new Board of Directors and partner at D’Exposito Agency, along with AT&T Latino conspired to make my trip to NYC possible and delightful! Viva Puerto Rico!  ...
