ANIMUS Summit Puerto Rico 2017

Attending my first press conference in Puerto Rico came with joy and pride;  Animus, the innovation summit dedicated to empowering women to reach their highest level of personal and professional development, returns for a third edition. This year the event moves to a new venue, the Puerto Rico Convention Center, due to the warm welcome of past editions and to make room for an audience of nearly a thousand attendees. More than 30 world-class speakers will take the stage this year; among them, the iconic actress, singer and dancer Rita Moreno. And guess who else is speaking? ME!!! I am honored to participate and will be giving a one-hour digital workshop “How to create your brand online, and turn-it into a business”. Puerto Rican entrepreneurs Lucienne Gigante and Carlos Cobián created this event to provide a space in which women get inspired, learn, connect and gain access to opportunities for growth and transformation. Regardless of their career level, from students to presidents and business owners, every attendee has something to gain from the event. Appointing women to leadership positions is a smart business move. That is why, at Animus, we’re empowering them with the right tools and with skills they can put to practice right after the event,” said Animus co-founder Carlos Cobián, who is also the founder of Cobian Media. To broaden the range of experiences presented at the event, each edition of Animus hosts an all-encompassing selection of leaders, from every age and industry, who have broken the frameworks in their respective fields and become role models for success. So excited to be speaking alongside one of my heroes at @animussummit! Rita Moreno is going to bring down the...

A Trip to Isabela, Puerto Rico

A Trip to Isabela, Puerto Rico

This past weekend I got invited by some friends to a discovery trip of beach town Isabela, on the northwest side of the island known for impressive beaches. The purpose of this trip was mainly to search for beach properties that could be a good fit to turn into an Airbnb. Isabela has a chill vibe, and you can sense a soft calmness through a delightful sound from the nearby ocean. Easy to fall in love with this beautiful beach town feeling the warmth of its people. A fun fact is that as we drove through the town, people would would wave to us. Several fun stops at local restaurant and bars followed, easily connecting with friendly and kind people from Isabela. We saw lots of properties for sale, this town is hurting by the recession, but I feel that with investors catching on and a great marketing campaign, Isabela can be on its way to become the new IT PLACE! There are some truly spectacular beaches and beautiful properties. A remarkable property that requires a post within itself, and an overnight stay plus interview with the owners is a magical place called Royal Isabela. I think this could be the most stunning and beautiful experience while visiting Puerto Rico and I feel it is a secret to the world.  Need to come back and capture original content for my LIVE Show in the FALL: “WebCityGirls LIVE from Puerto Rico”. Stay tuned Check out the Royal Isabela video story and some pics:...

An Enchanting Island: Vieques, Puerto Rico

An Enchanting Island: Vieques, Puerto Rico

Vieques is an enchanting island–municipality of Puerto Rico in the northeastern Caribbean with stunning beaches. Vieques has a long-history with the U.S. Navy, who arrived in 1941 and was ordered by President, George Bush to leave by May 2003. The Navy created infrastructure throughout the Island, but also took possession of some of the most beautiful beaches and land. You will find different articles about this subject as “Viequenses” have mix feelings about the transition departing the island. A population of 9, 000 claims more has to be done clearing munitions and toxic contaminants from the three-quarters of island once occupied by the military. In case you plan to invest in the enchanting island of Vieques taking advantage of tax incentives through Puerto Rico Laws 2o and 22, please know that the economic survival of the island depends on construction, tourism, fishing and the largest employer is General Electric. Vieques is only six miles away from the main island, and to get there you can choose among local airline services, private charters or a ferry that departs from Fajardo. Our weekend getaway to Martineau Belle Playa Villa began with a 25 minute flight from Isla Grande Airport with viequesairlink.com. A round-trip ticket will cost you $150.00. Lucky me just two weeks into my new life in Puerto Rico, got invited to this fabulous getaway by wonderful couple Rene and Zulma, who have invested in the island and own the beautiful Martineau Belle Playa Villa within the property of the 5-star W Martineau Retreat and Spa. The Villa made me feel like the rich and famous, but most importantly the kindness of each one of the ten people staying together for a family weekend touched my heart. We truly had a wonderful time in what beachfront luxury is all about! The access to the private residence begins at the entrance of the W Martineau Retreat a short walking distance from the Martineau Belle Playa Villa which includes its own private beach. The Villa is for rent throughout the year, and I heard that Daddy Yankee and some Hollywood a-lister have rented the home. Please visit this link for more details: homeaway.com/vacation-rental and start planning your dream trip to paradise! We spent a half-day touring the island and discovered the hixislandhouse.com a quaint place for nature lovers and visited local restaurants, galleries and even some shopping time! Vieques offers other choices to stay depending on your budget and adventurous lifestyle. Visit Vieques Insider an awesome guide to Sea, Sand and Sun!!! We are planning our next discovery trip for labor day weekend to Rincón a beautiful town on Puerto Rico’s west coast, known for its beaches. We are looking to stay at another friends villa rental, stay tuned!!!...

Despacito Sets Record For Most Streamed Song Of All Time!!!

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” from Universal Music Latin Entertainment, has officially become the most streamed track of all time, just six months after its release.  Already shaping up to be the biggest hit of 2017, the song and accompanying remix featuring Justin Bieber (UMLE/RBMG/Def Jam/Republic Records), now have combined global streams in excess of 4.6 billion plays across leading streaming platforms.  With “Despacito,” Justin Bieber surpasses his own record that he previously set with “Sorry” and its associated remixes, which to date have accumulated 4.38 billion plays. After dominating radio, streaming, and music videos during the past six months, “Despacito” shows no signs of slowing, with a long line of industry accolades, achievements and records eclipsed on its unprecedented ascent to the top of the global charts.  Commenting on the milestone, Luis Fonsi said, “Streaming is a connector for audiences worldwide and it has helped my music reach every corner of the planet. It is truly an honor that ‘Despacito’ is now the most streamed song in history.”  “Streaming has democratized music consumption, it has made Latin music increasingly relevant on the charts and it has amplified our songs and videos to a world stage,” said Jesús Lopez, Chairman & CEO of Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula. “‘Despacito’ has broken every record thanks to Luis Fonsi’s talent and creativity, which have positioned him as a pillar of Latin music for the past 20 years. I also congratulate Erika Ender, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber for their valuable contributions, as well as the different teams involved in the success of this song.”...
